Christoph Hesse

Christoph Hesse holds a Master of Architecture from ETH Zurich (2004) and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design with Distinction from Harvard University Graduate School of Design (2007). He also pursued guest studies at the MIT School of Architecture and Planning (2005).


In 2010, he was registered with the Chamber of Architects of the State of Hesse, Germany (AKH #19002), and founded Christoph Hesse Architects in Korbach. He was appointed as a member of the Bund Deutscher Architektinnen und Architekten BDA in 2019.


The practice expanded with a branch office in Berlin in 2018. In 2026, a second branch, opened at the Ways of Life Campus at Lake Edersee, comprising an atelier and guesthouse.


Christoph Hesse’s academic work includes teaching and research at ETH Zurich, Harvard University, TU Darmstadt, Cairo University, and Sapienza University. From 2020 to 2024, he served as a visiting professor at Tsinghua University in China. He is currently affiliated with King Khalid University in Saudi Arabia.


He has also served as a design critic at institutions such as the University of Hong Kong, Columbia University, Yale University, MIT, and the Università della Svizzera italiana in Mendrisio.
