OPEN GALLERY
The Open Gallery is the first of ten new structures built for Yanziling Community Park in Changsha, the seven-million-strong capital of Hunan Province, China. The wooden structure follows the topography of the landscape and floats slightly above the ground. On one side, it contains an enclosed volume that hosts temporary exhibitions and a café, while on the other, it provides a climbing structure for plants. Two terraces, shaped by the site’s topography, create a smooth transition between the interior and the surrounding park.
