MUSALLA OF HONESTY
MUSALLA OF HONESTY
The Musalla of Honesty is conceived as a project that celebrates the agricultural culture of the Aseer region, translating the spatial logic of cultivation into an architectural framework for prayer and community life. The design merges two recognizable elements of the local landscape: the stepped morphology of agricultural terraces and the lightweight architectural language of greenhouses, widely used in regional farming practices. The building develops as a terraced system covered by a continuous green roof, where each level hosts a distinct program. This stratified organization echoes the logic of cultivated fields, transforming the architecture into an extension of the agricultural terrain. The upper terrace hosts spaces for social interaction and communal activity. Here, the garden features vegetables and plants creating a small harvesting place where the community can spend time together and enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding territory. The two lower terraces accommodate the prayer spaces, organized separately for men and women. These levels provide quieter and more introspective environments, partially embedded within the terraced structure and protected by the green roof above. Through the integration of cultivation, landscape, and architecture, the Musalla of Honesty transforms the familiar imagery of Aseer’s agricultural terraces and greenhouses into a spatial system that supports both spiritual practice and collective life.
