Wooden Wood Centre
Wooden Wood Centre
The Wooden Wood Centre, designed for Willingen-Stryck, serves as a gateway to the Diemelsee Nature Park, inviting visitors to explore and learn about the woodlands in the rural Upland region of Northern Hesse. An exhibition space showcases the rich diversity of the environment, while a lecture hall hosts events focused on the ecological and innovative efforts of both the institution and the local community. Enclosed by a wooden perimeter wall, the center features two distinct volumes and several courtyards, each designated for specific functions: communication, cultivation, exhibition, and education. The existing building, which houses administration and service spaces, is integrated into the complex. The Wooden Wood Centre aims to deepen visitors’ understanding of biodiversity and encourages active participation in ecological initiatives.
