“Ways of Life” is a cooperative community project in the rural region of Waldeck-Frankenberg in Northern Hesse. The goal is to design experimental and ecological buildings and outdoor spaces in order to sustainably strengthen the village community of Scheid am Edersee, which is affected by the consequences of demographic change.
In particular, the areas of living and working are closely linked and communal indoor and open spaces are created for social exchange. In addition, a seminar and workshop building, public common spaces, experimental and exhibition areas, as well as permaculture gardens and ecological green areas for organic farming are being designed.
The following architectural offices have worked on different designs, of which a selection of eight to ten is to be realised:
